On a late misty night in Chicago, a woman named Debbie was fast asleep in her peaceful town home. She felt safe with her 29 year old son Carl and black lab Shelby. Debbie, who was fast asleep, suddenly woke up from a terrible dream at 1:11 a.m. When she woke up she couldn’t remember what it was about.
Later that day Debbie and her son Carl went out to lunch. When they got back Shelby was in a tight ball having a terrible dream. The time was 1:11 p.m. “She never does that Mom” cried Carl. “I know Carl…I know” Debbie replied. Debbie went into her favorite room, the prized possession room she called it. When she was looking at the cases with the most valuable jewels in them, her favorite jewel called the spider jewel was gone.
“I’m here” said Det. Crystal Night. “What’s the problem?” She asked Debbie. “My…my jewel has been stolen” Debbie cried. With this Crystal went outside and examined her spacious porch and front yard. On the porch she saw a bright red bouncy ball. Right away she knows this is a red herring (a misleading clue). When Crystal went back into the house she noticed that almost every piece of artwork had a purple spider on it. Also, that there was always a little hamster on the floor moving. “It’s probably Debbie’s son’s hamster”, Crystal thinks to herself.
When Crystal went into the dark attic she took out her blue flashlight and started exploring. “ Hmm, what’s this for,” Crystal says to herself. I was a stuffed blue monkey holding a spider jewel in its hand.
“Mrs. Debbie Chasewell what did your jewel look like?” asked Crystal. Debbie is silent. “Was it this?” expressed Crystal. She holds up a blue jewel, “This?,” a pink one. “Or was it this?,” Crystal holds up the spider jewel. “You found it” cried Debbie with happiness. “No, you faked the crime” “Oh-no,” said Debbie in a tone of defeat. “Debbie, you’ll have to come down to the station with me,” said Crystal. Debbie went with Crystal and Debbie said she did it to be on a TV crime show. Debbie’s plan failed and new never to do it again.
